2020-2022
The New Modeling Troupe
Built from the ground up, I planned, produced, choreographed, and directed my own fashion show within the club I ran at University of Delaware. After realizing there was a need for a creative and expressive fashion show at UD, I used my past experiences to produce this opportunity for diverse Individuals to build their self-confidence and break out of their comfort zone.
Each model was trained by myself over the course of the semester. The end result was a troupe filled with brilliant, fierce models that walked the runway with self-confidence. Model outfits were styled by the models themselves to challenge them to explore their own unique interests and tastes. This offered more flexibility and ensured their creative talents were showcased.

The New Magazine
"The New" is a student-ran club at University of Delaware that was founded by two black women focused on showcasing creative talent in diverse Individuals across campus. This club was built to create an inclusive culture where everyone's input matters and opinions are considered. Each semester, this group collectively issues a magazine surrounded by a common theme built from the talent of all involved in the club.
I was blessed and honored to work on the board for 2 years, co-president for 2 years, and produce 8 magazine editions. I worked with a variety of students and helped them tap Into their creative interests and build confidence. I also micromanaged and contributed to each department: photography, music, visual art, fashion, social media, graphic design, and more. Additionally, I contributed in event planning for small club events and the semi-annual magazine launches.
Grad Research Project
2022

Methods
End-of-use cotton apparel was shredded and raw cotton fibers were carded to create two layers of cotton material. These materials were felted on a cotton fabric backing and tested for its textile properties in air permeability, thermal resistance, and moisture management. Both 100% cotton and blended cotton materials were utilized and tested separately.

Purpose
The purpose of this research was to investigate an innovative method of mechanically recycling fashion textile waste to develop a new product--non-woven fabrics that can be used as biodegradable mulch mats (agriculture purposes).
The properties and biodegradability of cotton was explored as end-of-use cotton apparel and raw cotton fibers were the key resources used in this project.
Results
Four (4) cotton mulch mats were developed. The 100% cotton mats had high air permeability and lower thermal resistance, while the blended cotton mats had a high thermal resistance, and lower air permeability. The moisture management testing results were found to be inconclusive.

Gen z Internship Project
In the summer of 2021, I was blessed with the opportunity to work alongside the Women's Apparel Global Merchandising team at Under Armour. With my extensive career in the sport of volleyball, I was able to connect deeper with my team and appreciate this eye-opening experience.
My time with UA was spent learning the business strategies of the company and working on my summer project. In this project, I deeply analyzed consumers in Generation Z, their habits, behaviors, and consumer needs. Additionally, I made recommendations on how to gain market share with these consumers and what they require and expect from sports and activewear brands.

Fashion Assistance
Throughout my academic career, I was blessed with numerous opportunities to assist behind the scenes at fashion shows. Most of my experience working with Philadelphia Fashion Week as a dresser and further assisting designer Alexandria Von. I’ve managed models in their stations and assisted with quick changes backstage.
In 2018 and 2019, I assisted with Bermuda Fashion Week which were my most exciting experiences. I partnered with Bermuda Fashion Designer, Desirée with her D'EZIR collection and, my retail store, Calypso's collection. Additionally, I have worked as a dresser In a Bride and Groom exhibition and as an assistant model manager In an exclusive Bloomingdales show.
I enjoy working in fast-paced environments, such as these and seeing the work of everyone come together. I would love to gain more experience in this area.

Visual merchandising

Although my education and knowledge of visual merchandising is not extensive, I try to learn more and more with every experience and opportunity I receive. Through my retail associate experience, I've worked with high-quality products that required high expectations in presentation for customers. Thankfully, I was blessed with managers who taught me the basics of VM and how to arrange an exciting store environment from the Individual racks and tables, to the entire store appeal.
Additionally, I was employed as a Key Holder Manager and was responsible for arranging shelf and store displays, In accordance with the floor plans.
Creating a space that will visually and emotionally impact another person has always been a strong passion of mine. I am very Interested in gaining more experience in this field as there is a lot I have yet to learn.

Modeling Experience
My modeling journey began in the Fall of 2017 where I was trained to become a runway model and learned choreographed walks. I joined modeling to help me break out of my introverted shell and gain confidence in myself. Although I was timid at first, I faced the challenge before me and quickly found my happy place. From there, I went to train for another show in Spring 2018, modeled in a small show in Spring 2019, and gained additional experience in print modeling and fashion show production.
I am deeply Inspired by all I have learned from and wanted to help others find a fun, entertaining way of stepping out of their comfort zone and exploring their confidence. I would love to gain more modeling experience to perfect my craft and be an inspiration to others. One never knows how far they can go until they take that first step.
